After going to see a White Stork a couple of weekends which may i add i dipped with a good friend news broke on a Thursday 4th July that presumably the same bird had been found at Lound GPs in Notts . I text my friend to tell him about this as he needed the bird too he replied he was busy till 6pm but could go then if i wished so i snapped his hand off . Birdguides kept reporting the bird still present which was good for my nerves as people that go birding will know you can get anxious and not wanting the dreaded message flew high in what ever direction it was .

1800 arrived and he pulled up and we were off Lound is about 30 minutes from where i live so scope and bins on back seat we were off after a very nervy journey we pulled up at the place where the White Stork had been seen as soon as i stepped out of the car i could see the bird on in the water wow it was a big bird and a lifer for me so we got eyes on the bird and walked down the dirt track to obtain better views which we did get. We watched the bird for about 1 hour and saw some other birds too a Red Kite kept flying over which is always good to see a lovely bird of prey. At about 1945 we decided to leave and go home as i was working the next day and as we drove along the dirt track near Walters Farm i noticed a small dove on the road got my friend to stop and low and behold it was a Turtle Dove which my friend Graham needed for his year list.

A great evening twitch the Stork being a lifer for both of us after many years of trying finally got it .
