After reports of a Black Redstart at Harworth Recreational ground I went to see the bird on Saturday briefly before doing family stuff so Sundays oppourtunity to go to see this wonderful scarce migrant again with my good friend Stuart was too good to refuse. We arrived at the ASDA site at Harworth and made our way across the Recreational ground to the gap in the fence where we could nip through.

We arrived at the viewing area where the bird has been showing from and after a brief look no sign of the bird so we walked along the old pit tip a bit further still no sign. After 10 mins we decided to walk back to the first place to view and Stuart found the bird very quickly feeding on the ground. The bird kept coming close and feeding most of the time flicking its tail as it did.

A great bit of editing from my good friend Ryan made these pics look amazing so a massive thank you to him. We watched the bird for about 15 mins and then decided to have a quick visit to slaynes lane before heading home. Birds of interest at Slaynes lane 4 Little Egret 2 Great White Egrets Whooper Swans Buzzard Lapwings just to name a few.

A happy Stuart
